Welcome to Merces Consulting Group, Inc. (Merces), a management consulting firm dedicated to helping organizations — particularly migrant/community health centers — improve the return on their human resource investment.   Merces is the new name for Management Resource Center, Inc., a consulting firm founded in 1990 with nearly 20 years of experience working in the M/CHC industry.  Our new website can be found at www.mercesconsulting.com.

The objective of this site is to provide M/CHC management with thoughts, tips and various techniques on:

• Organization Design and Development – developing an organizational structure, determining management and operational staffing needs, documenting job duties and responsibilities, and managing employee performance.

• Effective Employee Compensation Programs – designing, implementing and administering programs for rewarding employees for their contribution to the organization, including base pay and incentive compensation.

Every organization is different, and not every post will apply to everyone, but the information we provide will hopefully lead you in a direction that will help you run a more effective organization that will provide better services to your patients and the community.

For those of you familiar with Management Resource Center, Inc. (MRC), you’ll find little has changed beyond our name and some administrative details.  We have found that too many organizations have names similar to ours, and we were lost in the internet search engine shuffle.  Merces (mur’-sez) is an old Latin word that translates roughly to reward and compensation, which has always been the heart of our consulting practice.
